 VBS is currently looking for a Developer based in Bettembourg to develop backend solutions transforming data into customized communications across multiple delivery channels.

You will be involved and participate actively to the full-cycle of projects: analysis, tests, validation and deployment.

Within the IT Development team, you will work together with projects stakeholders and bring your insight and expertise. There is a large array of projects covering day-to-day requests to innovative technical products.

It will be your role to keep up to date with solutions’ evolution and you will take the lead on their upgrades, enhancements and maintenance.  You must be able to take ownership!

You will report to the Head of IT Development and IT Development Supervisor.

Your mission  

You will be in charge of:

  • Develop and implement business requirements for internal and external client projects;
  • Maintain applications in production;
  • Identify technical and operational improvements and track issues;
  • Participate actively in incidents investigation and resolution;
  • Escalate production and developments issues, by assisting also your colleagues;
  • Contribute to enrich the application knowledge database, team documentation and operational
    procedures;
  • Test your developments and review the quality of your deliverables;
  • Provide adequate time estimates for internal and client’s projects;
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on functional requirements documentation and
    specifications of the projects;
  • Collaborate with the other internal teams to maintain and ensure the good progress of ongoing
    activities and projects;
  • Work with supplier’s technical support to facilitate analysis and resolution of technical issues when
    needed.

Your profile  

To be successful in this role, you need:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent academic background;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT Development or a relevant similar experience;
  • Full professional proficiency in English is required; the knowledge of French is an asset;
  • Capability to evolve in a development stack:
    – Proficient knowledge of Perl;
    – Good knowledge of Shell scripting and Unix environments;
    – Working experience with Git;
    – Familiar with DevOps concept such as CI/CD;
    – The print stream format knowledge such as AFP, PostScript or PCL, familiarity with print
    management software is a strong asset;
    – The knowledge of Docbridge Software is an asset;
    – Experience with OCR/ICR software and document capture workflows is an asset
  • The ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative and team spirit;
    Analytical and problem-solving mindset;
    Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
